- 2Check in at the dockArrive 30 minutes before your departure. Our dock is in front of Ballast Point Brewery, 110 N Marina Dr, Long Beach. Parking is free at Alamitos Bay Landing and along Marina Drive.
- 3Pedal into the sunsetLife jackets on, and you are off across the bay while the sun goes down. Stay inside the bay: no ocean and no harbor.
- 4Dinner afterBack at the dock, Alamitos Bay Landing’s waterfront restaurants and bars are right there.
Where you will ride
You start from our dock on Alamitos Bay and pedal out along the sandy beach of Alamitos Peninsula, which runs beside most of the route. Stop on the sand to watch the sun go down, or keep pedaling and find a quieter stretch.
The bay is flat and protected, so it stays calm even when the ocean is not. Two cup holders and a storage cubby ride with you.

From $29 per person for one hour, up to $40 for the busiest departures. The booking calendar shows the price for your departure before you pay.
Good to know before you book
- Kids who can reach the pedals ride their own hydrobike, usually from around age 10 (about 28 inches of leg length, see the FAQ).
- Every hydrobike seats one rider. Anyone under 18 rides with an adult 18 or older.
- 250 pounds per hydrobike, including anything you bring.
- Life jackets are provided and required. Ours are Coast Guard certified.
- Cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours notice. Email hello@lbwaterbikes.com or call 562.546.2493.
- We close now and then for wind, rain or fog. If you booked ahead, our crew contacts you and we sort out a new time.

When do sunset rides leave?
Departure times change with the season, following the sunset. The booking calendar shows every sunset departure and what is still open. Check in 30 minutes before your departure.
How much does it cost?
From $29 per person for the hour, up to $40 for the busiest departures. The booking calendar shows the price before you pay.
Do sunset rides sell out?
Often. Sunset and glow rides sell out first from June through September, especially on weekends, so book ahead.
Will I get wet, and what should I wear?
Most people stay dry, but wear shoes you would not mind getting a few drops of saltwater on. Dress for the weather and bring a layer for when the sun goes down.
Can we book a birthday or a group?
Yes. We take up to 20 guests per departure, and back to back departures for larger groups. Call 562.546.2493 and we will set it up.
Where do we meet, and is parking free?
At our dock in front of Ballast Point Brewery on Alamitos Bay, 110 N Marina Dr, Long Beach, CA 90803. Parking is free at Alamitos Bay Landing and along Marina Drive. Avoid the red-curbed boater parking.
