The best way to see the Naples Island canals
The Naples Island canals are one of the prettiest things to do in Long Beach: palm trees, bridges and waterfront homes, right off Alamitos Bay. The canals are a two mile loop, and you are the engine, so the 2-Hour ride is the one to book: plenty of time to see them at your own pace. It is the same route as our Christmas Lights rides, which take 1 hour 15 minutes without stopping. A great date day, too. Thinking about renting a kayak or paddle board in Long Beach to see the canals? Hydrobiking is a dry sport and more beginner-friendly: you sit up high and pedal around Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, with no balance to learn.
Time for the Naples Island canals
The canal loop is about two miles. Two hours is plenty of time to take it at your own pace instead of racing.
Bring a rod and fish
Fish in Alamitos Bay with your own rod, tackle and license. Every hydrobike has a rod holder, two cup holders and a storage cubby.
A quick stop at Picnic Beach
Pull up at Picnic Beach for a short break, then pedal on. Just have your hydrobike back at the dock when your two hours are up.

Where you will ride
From our dock you pedal across Alamitos Bay and into the Naples Island canals, a two mile loop, then back to the dock. Picnic Beach is on the way if you want a quick stop.
It is a mild workout: easy for some people, more work for others, and always fun. Everything stays inside the bay: no ocean and no harbor.

$50 per person for two hours. Specials and seasonal prices show in the booking calendar before you pay. Gift cards come in a set 2-Hour ride too.
Good to know before you book
- Kids who can reach the pedals ride their own hydrobike, usually from around age 10 (about 28 inches of leg length, see the FAQ). On daytime 2-Hour rides, kids 4 to 9 can ride along with an adult: call to ask.
- Have your hydrobikes back at the dock when your two hours are up.
- Every hydrobike seats one rider. Anyone under 18 rides with an adult 18 or older.
- 250 pounds per hydrobike. Only bring what fits in the storage cubby.
- Life jackets are provided and required. Ours are Coast Guard certified.
