The best way to see the Naples Island canals
The Naples Island canals are one of the prettiest things to do in Long Beach: palm trees, bridges and waterfront homes, right off Alamitos Bay. They are roughly two miles round trip from our dock. You can do it in an hour, but you will be pedaling the whole time, so the 2-Hour ride is the one to book. It turns the Naples Island canals into a leisurely ride, with time left for the beach.

Two hours is enough to get out past the bridge, fish the Naples Island canals and get back without rushing. Bring your own rod, tackle and license.

- 2Check in at the dockArrive 30 minutes before your departure. Our dock is in front of Ballast Point Brewery, 110 N Marina Dr, Long Beach. Parking is free at Alamitos Bay Landing and along Marina Drive.
- 3Pedal to the Naples Island canalsEvery rider pedals their own hydrobike across Alamitos Bay and into the Naples Island canals.
- 4Back to the dockTwo hours later you are back at the dock, with the waterfront restaurants and bars of Alamitos Bay Landing a short walk away.
Where you will ride
From our dock on Alamitos Bay you pedal past the bridge and into the Naples Island canals, then loop back to the dock. The sandy beach along Alamitos Peninsula is on the bay side if you want a stop.
It is beautiful, and for some people it is a real workout, so keep in mind that you are the engine. Everything stays inside the bay: no ocean and no harbor.

$50 per person for two hours. Specials and seasonal prices show in the booking calendar before you pay. Gift cards come in a set 2-Hour ride too.
Good to know before you book
- Kids who can reach the pedals ride their own hydrobike, usually from around age 10 (about 28 inches of leg length, see the FAQ).
- Every hydrobike seats one rider. Anyone under 18 rides with an adult 18 or older.
- 250 pounds per hydrobike, including anything you bring.
- Life jackets are provided and required. Ours are Coast Guard certified.
- Cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours notice. Email hello@lbwaterbikes.com or call 562.546.2493.
- We close now and then for wind, rain or fog. If you booked ahead, our crew contacts you and we sort out a new time.

Why book two hours for the Naples Island canals?
The Naples Island canals are roughly two miles round trip from our dock. You can do it in an hour, but you will be pedaling the whole time with no stopping, and people who try often feel rushed. Two hours makes it leisurely.

Do I ride on my own?
Yes. Every rider pedals their own hydrobike at their own pace.
How hard is it?
It is a mild workout for most people, more like an easy bike ride than a hard one. The Naples Island canals are a real workout for some, though, so keep in mind that you are the engine and use the extra time.
Where do we meet, and is parking free?
At our dock in front of Ballast Point Brewery on Alamitos Bay, 110 N Marina Dr, Long Beach, CA 90803. Parking is free at Alamitos Bay Landing and along Marina Drive. Avoid the red-curbed boater parking.
